This Saturday, January 26th from 10am-2pm there is a VPK Kick Off for children wishing to attend Prekindergarten in Duval county- Parents can register their children at any of the following locations:
1. Pablo Creek Library: 13295 Beach Boulevard; Jax 32246
2. Mandarin Oaks Elementary: 10600 Hornets Nest Road; Jax 32257
3. FSCJ-Downtown: Corner of State St. and Pearl St.; Jax 32246
(In the Advanced Technology Center. Free Parking in Pearl St. parking lot)
4. Kingdom Plaza Mall: 5310 Lenox Ave.; 32205 (inside of the Mall.)
You DO NOT have to attend the kick off to enroll your child in VPK in Duval county for next year. You can always go to one of the main offices Monday-Thursday- see list at the end of this article.
Where your child attends VPK is up to you; preschools, faith based programs, Family Child Care Homes and early learning facilities all participate in the VPK program. (The public school system in Duval County only participates in the summer program, at present.) VPK enrollment is based on the county in which you want to attend, NOT on which county you live. You may live in the surrounding county and enroll your child in a Duval County provider through ELC of Duval; you may NOT use a ELC of Duval certificate/voucher for a provider in another county. Please contact Episcopal Children's Services for VPK in the surrounding counties.
Eligibility Information:
Children MUST live in Florida and be born between 9/2/08-9/1/09
* A list of participating VPK providers will be available. The Early Learning Coalition of Duval cannot recommend child care providers. ELC of Duval only refers providers. Parents should interview child care providers before enrolling.
What to Bring:
One proof of residency:
driver's license, utility bill, lease agreement, mortgage or pay stub
One proof of age:
birth certificate, shot record (signed by doctor), passport, or military ID
Your child's social security number
Bring copies of the above to expedite the process.

VPK registration is also available @ all offices beginning Monday, January 28th
